Christian Book Marketing Through Emails

Last night I read an article about a Christian Book Marketing service that offered to promote an author's book by sending out thousands of emails as a email marketing program. I also read another Christian Book Marketing services that offered to send out 10,000 emails as part of a marketing campaign.

Immediately and after considering the cost, the following questions came to mind.

  • When an author pays for such a services, what proof does the author have that any of the emails were actually sent out?
  • How many of these email addresses are current email addresses that actually go to people that would want to purchase a Christian book?
  • How did the service come by the mass email addresses?
  • Did the service purchase the emails from another service?
  • In sending such out, would it be considered spam?
As someone who has been helping Christian authors publish and marketing their books since 2008. I encourage any Christian author that is considering this form of Christian Book Marketing to dig deeper into that marketing program and ask the very above mentioned questions. You might be surprised at the answers you get.
